About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician to join a growing production team responsible for assembling, integrating, and testing sophisticated mechanical and electromechanical systems.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with excellent mechanical aptitude who enjoys building high-quality products, solving practical challenges, and working closely with engineers throughout the production lifecycle. From prototype development through to final assembly and testing, you'll play a key role in delivering precision-engineered solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble mechanical and electromechanical systems using engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality procedures.
  • Perform mechanical fitting, fastening, alignment, and integration of components and sub-assemblies.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and functional checks to ensure products meet engineering specifications.
  • Diagnose and resolve assembly issues while collaborating with engineering and production teams.
  • Support prototype builds, new product introduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Complete production, quality, and build documentation accurately.
  • Safely operate workshop equipment, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Assist with product testing, commissioning, and validation activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, fitting, maintenance, or a similar hands-on technical role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence using workshop tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Experience assembling precision mechanical components or complex equipment.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality workmanship.
  • Strong troubleshooting and practical problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based manufacturing environment.
  • Australian Citizenship is required due to project eligibility requirements.

Highly Regarded:
  • Trade qualification or Certificate III/IV in engineering, mechanical, fitting & machining, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within advanced manufacturing, aerospace, defence, automotive, mining, marine, or heavy industry.
  • Exposure to prototype builds, research & development, or low-volume manufacturing environments.

Location: Adelaide, SA

Work Set-up: Full-time permanent position | Adelaide-based role | Regular field deployments ranging from 1–3 weeks at a time | Opportunity to work in remote environments

About the Role:
We are seeking a practical and mechanically minded Field Mechanical Technician to support the maintenance, preparation, testing, and deployment of fixed-wing aircraft platforms. Working across workshop and field environments, you will play a critical role in ensuring aircraft remain safe, serviceable, and mission-ready throughout an active test and development program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspections, servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on fixed-wing aircraft systems and associated equipment.
  • Support pre-flight and post-flight activities, including launch, recovery, and flight-line operations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, identifying practical solutions in both workshop and field environments.
  • Assist in developing, improving, and documenting maintenance procedures and technical processes.
  • Work closely with engineers, aircraft maintainers, and operational personnel to support testing and deployment activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Participate in regional and remote field operations, contributing to broader project and operational requirements.

Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Trade qualification or proven experience in mechanical maintenance, field service, heavy equipment, industrial maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to unfamiliar systems and equipment.
  • Experience working in demanding operational environments such as mining, oil & gas, agriculture, defence, marine, manufacturing, or motorsport.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote field locations when required.
  • Australian Citizenship.

Desirable:
  • Certificate III or Certificate IV in Engineering, Mechanical Trade, or related discipline.
  • Exposure to aircraft maintenance environments (fixed-wing or rotary-wing).
  • Experience within defence, aerospace, research and development, or advanced technology sectors.
  • Familiarity with maintenance documentation and technical record-keeping.
  • Current driver's licence and experience operating vehicles in remote environments.
