UGL has an opportunity for a Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical (1st, 2nd and 3rd year apprentices accepted) to join the team based at our facility in Townsville, QLD. This role will be offered on a full-time basis working day shift (Monday – Friday 6\:00am – 2\:30pm with 13 RDO’s per year) and paid under the UGL Townsville Enterprise Agreement.
This role will see you completing TAFE and on the job training at Townsville. We are looking for application from candidates willing to be committed to completing their certificate III for the duration of the apprenticeship. Post apprenticeship there is long term trade opportunities on site with UGL that could see you develop into many different career paths such as, Planning, Technical Support, Supervision and Production Management.
Mechanical Fitter Apprenticeship - Certificate III Engineering
Responsibilities Include;
- Examine and evaluate drawings and specification for job requirements.
- Operate and adjust metalworking machines and create parts or tools.
- Fit and assemble metal parts, tools or sub-assemblies (including brazing or welding parts, repair or replace faulty parts).
- Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
- Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment or (CNC) machines.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies.
