We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Handyperson to join our team at the Mayfair Hotel.

The Mayfair boasts an unmatched location in the heart of the city, breathing new life into the iconic heritage-listed Colonial Mutual Life Building. This hotel has outstanding dining outlets including the Mayflower Restaurant, a lounge bar, and Hennessey Rooftop Bar.


About the Opportunity

As a Maintenance Handyperson at Mayfair Hotel, you will be maintaining and enhancing our facilities.  Your hands-on approach will contribute significantly to the safety and overall guest experience in this stunning boutique hotel.


About the Role

  • Equipment and Preventative Management: Maintenance, and repair of all machinery and equipment, lending your practical skills when necessary. Adherence to preventative maintenance programs for rooms and public areas.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations, maintaining all necessary documentation through your direct involvement.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance tasks and procurement, leveraging your hands-on knowledge.
  • Emergency Response: Be available for on-call duty to address maintenance emergencies promptly and working across a 7 day roster as required.

About you

  • Experience: Strong background of hands-on experience in a resort/hotel as a Trade Qualified technician in the field of Class A Electrician, Plumber, Carpenter or Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong practical knowledge of maintenance procedures, equipment, and systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Communication: Effective hands-on communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Safety Focus: A hands-on commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
