Join our Maintenance Team

Are you a skilled fitter or boilermaker with experience leading high performing teams? At Delta, we’re looking for someone like you to lead and inspire one of our multidisciplinary Maintenance teams at Vales Point Power Station. You’ll join a supportive team of seasoned professionals, tackling the challenges of maintaining and optimising large, complex plant systems and successfully completing outages. The key responsibilities of the role include:

  1. Team Leadership: As a hands-on leader you will oversee and guide the team to manage daily maintenance tasks, including routine and defect maintenance, ensuring safe and efficient plant operation while adhering to safety, quality, environmental, and financial standards.
  2. Safety Management: With a strong focus on safety, you will identify and address issues and risks to maintain a safe working environment.
  3. Technical Guidance and Support: You’ll guide and mentor apprentices and other team members, while also collaborating with and monitoring contractor workers to ensure quality and efficiency when required.
  4. General Maintenance Activities: Leading from the front, you’ll also carry out trade related duties such as preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, upgrades and installations to maximise the reliability and availability of the Power Station.
  5. Team Development: You will enjoy mentoring and motivating your team members, enhancing their performance and professional development, as well as being confident in addressing any issues, and escalating as needed to the Maintenance Team Leader.
  6. Coordination and Communication: In order to minimise plant downtime and ensure efficient execution of tasks, you will collaborate with teams and contractors to plan maintenance activities in alignment with business needs.
  7. Process Improvements: Along with your team, you’ll assess current maintenance practices and propose strategies to boost efficiency and drive better performance.
  8. System Utilisation: You will have experience using IT systems effectively monitor, assess and drive team and business performance.

 

About You:

  • You are a qualified Boilermaker or Mechanical Fitter with an in-depth knowledge of modern power stations or other heavy industry and have an interest in working with large process plant.
  • You hold Leadership qualifications to a Certificate level and have demonstrated experience in leading a team to successfully meet business needs.
  • You lead by example ensuring your actions are consistent and reflect the values and behaviours Delta encourages to create and maintain a positive work culture.
  • You value your team and are committed to developing and mentoring others around you towards success.
  • You are confident to proactively identify and address any performance or behavioural issues within the team before they impact morale.
  • As an effective communicator, you enjoy building relationships across all levels, ensuring timely and accurate communication with customers, team members and management to ensure everyone understands their roles and priorities.
  • You have strong understanding of safety practices, maintenance procedures and environmental regulations, prioritising these in all work being undertaken.
