About the School

Tintern Grammar is a leading independent school in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, and it has a history of over 145 years, with students from our Early Learning Centre to Year 12. The school is set in a beautiful expansive environment of gardens, ovals, and grounds.

Tintern Grammar is seeking to appoint a Maintenance Handyperson to join our Facilities Services team.  This can be a full-time role working 8.00am to 4.00pm with a 30-minute lunch break o This role is entitled to a generous leave provision of 5 weeks annual leave.

 

 

 

About the Role

The Maintenance Handyperson works collaboratively with other members of the Facilities Services Department to complete a wide variety of activities that support the continued function of the school curriculum. This may include:

·       Assisting Facilities staff to undertake general maintenance and grounds duties.

·       Occasionally working off-site at special events organised by the school.

·       Delivery of parcels and goods around the school including delivery of copy paper to various printing stations.

·       Assisting with the set up for functions including distribution of and packing up of chairs in main auditorium.

·       General workplace services to assist academic and professional staff.

 

 

 

 

About the Applicant 

You will have some experience in building maintenance and have worked previously in either a school environment, corporate, government, or other not for profit organisation. While trade qualifications are not necessary, they will be looked upon favourably. You will need to be hard working and have a can-do attitude, be able to work as a part of a team and possess the following.

·       A minimum level of fitness and stamina.

·       The ability to carry out safe working practices with a minimum of supervision.

·       A current driver’s licence.

·       Enthusiasm, self-motivation and be flexible.

·       A good work ethic.

·       Commitment to excellent customer service.

·       A courteous and friendly manner.

·       A current valid Working with Children Check.

·       Basic Computer skills.
