We're looking for a skilled Maintenance Fitter who enjoys diagnosing faults, solving technical challenges and keeping sophisticated CNC machinery operating with precision, reliability and efficiency.

You'll be responsible for supporting a fleet of advanced CNC machining centres used to manufacture complex components for leading organisations including Lockheed Martin, Boeing and BAE Systems.

The Opportunity

As a key member of our Maintenance Team, you'll take ownership of maintaining and improving critical CNC machinery and plant equipment across the facility.

From diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults through to performing precision calibration and recommissioning, you'll play a vital role in ensuring maximum machine availability and production performance.

You'll be trusted to identify recurring issues, implement improvements and work proactively to prevent breakdowns before they impact production.

What You'll Be Doing

🔧 Maintain & Repair Critical Equipment

• Maintain, service and repair CNC machinery and production equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.

🎯 Precision Calibration & Recommissioning

• Perform machine calibration following repairs and servicing.
• Recommission equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability and performance.

📈 Improve Reliability & Performance

• Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce recurring faults.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

📦 Manage Maintenance Resources

• Coordinate spare parts, inventory and supplier requirements.
• Work with contractors and service providers when required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.

🦺 Champion Safe Operations

• Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company and legislative requirements.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys getting hands-on with machinery, solving technical problems and taking pride in keeping equipment operating at its best.

You'll also bring:

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter or equivalent.
• 5+ years' experience maintaining production CNC machinery.
• Strong experience servicing CNC mills and lathes.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Proven fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with machinery calibration and precision alignment.
• Ability to operate manual lathes, mills and grinders.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• A proactive mindset and genuine passion for machinery and maintenance.

Additional Requirements:
Due to the nature of our work and the requirements of our customers, all applicants may be required to hold Australian citizenship and need to meet ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and/or EAR (Export Administration Regulations) compliance as part of employment eligibility.
