We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Maintenance Fitter for an exciting opportunity with a global manufacturing company based in Lilydale.
This is a day shift role with immediate commencement, offering a 3-4 month tenure in a well-established and supportive environment.

About the Role:
You will be responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of advanced manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal performance, minimal downtime, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on:
  • Plastic extrusion machinery
  • packing systems
  • Heavy-duty reeling equipment
  • Diagnose faults and carry out root cause analysis on mechanical failures
  • Strip, assess, rebuild, and install gearboxes, motors, pumps, and conveyors
  • Conduct bearing replacements, alignment, lubrication, and adjustments
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and minor machining as required
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Assist with PLC fault finding in conjunction with electricians/automation teams
  • Work with maintenance software systems for:
    • Logging work orders
    • Recording completed maintenance
    • Managing spare parts and inventory
  • Support planned shutdowns, line changeovers, and equipment upgrades
  • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with safety, quality, and compliance standards
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting documentation
Skills & Experience:
  • Trade qualified Maintenance Fitter
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability
  • Knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery highly regarded
  • Experience with drives, motors, and gearbox overhauls/repairs
  • Exposure to hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Strong commitment to safety and housekeeping standards
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
