UGL is the lead electrical contractor delivering preventative and corrective maintenance, as well as project work, across University of Queensland sites throughout Queensland.

Based at the St Lucia campus, you’ll work across a diverse portfolio including commercial buildings, laboratories, research facilities, sports precincts and outdoor electrical assets.

We are seeking experienced Maintenance Electricians, who value safety, quality workmanship and problem-solving in a customer-focused environment.   This is a casual engagement with long term potential.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preventative and corrective electrical maintenance

  • Fault finding, diagnosis and repairs

  • Installation, testing, commissioning and certification of electrical equipment

  • Switchboard upgrades and switchgear maintenance

  • Cabling, earthing and lighting systems

  • Completion of compliance documentation and test certificates

  • Support minor works and upgrade projects across campus

This is a hands‑on, technical role where you’ll work both independently and alongside a skilled team, keeping UQ’s electrical infrastructure operating safely and reliably.

About You

  • Current QLD Electrical Licence

  • Current LVR/CPR

  • Experience in commercial or industrial maintenance

  • Strong fault-finding skills

  • Ability to interpret drawings and work to AS/NZS 3000

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
