Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing engineering consultancy delivering EPCM solutions across the mining and resources sector. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming work, they are currently seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their Perth-based team.

The Opportunity:
This position will see you working across a range of mining and bulk materials handling projects involving commodities such as Iron Ore, Gold, Nickel and other minerals. Working closely with major mining operators and an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering practical, high-quality engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle. The role offers a mix of technical engineering, design review, problem-solving and project coordination responsibilities within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. Key responsibilities include: 

• Mechanical design and specifications for conveyors, feeders, rock breakers, isolation gates and fixed plant equipment.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical documentation and equipment specifications.
• Provide technical analysis and optimisation to support innovative engineering solutions.
• Ensure engineering deliverables are completed safely, accurately and in line with project schedules and budgets.
• Liaise with clients, vendors and internal project teams throughout project delivery.
• Support and mentor junior engineers within the team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience within EPC/EPCM mining or resources projects in Australia.
• Strong fixed plant or bulk materials handling project experience.
• Experience with engineering analysis tools such as FEA, CFD and/or DEM highly regarded.
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical capability.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
