Job Description

We are currently seeking multiple full time or part time (30 hrs per week) Labourers/ Grounds Persons to join our hard working maintenance team at Elysia Wellness Retreat on a three month contract. This position requires an experienced, professional, reliable and well organised person to work a variety of days and shifts.

Your key responsibilities and duties include:

• Conduct repairs to Meditation Hill pathway, including tasks like edging and compacting pebbles for smooth, safe walkways.
• Undertake weeding of Meditation Hill, along with trimming lavender plants to maintain the aesthetic appeal of the area.
• Pressure wash various areas around the retreat to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
• Assist with vegetable garden maintenance, ensuring healthy growth and upkeep.
• Handle other handyman and labor-type work as needed, assisting with any tasks that contribute to the overall maintenance of the property.
• Assist in caring and servicing the pool and spa areas;
• Be vigilant for hazards and risks within the workplace that could cause harm and report accordingly; and
• Build & maintain professional and courteous relationships with guests, co-workers and management.

The majority of tasks will be outdoors, and the work will be physically demanding. Being able to work in all weather conditions and maintain a positive, proactive approach is important.

Hourly rates (excluding super):

Monday - Friday: $32.25 per hour 

Saturday: $38.70 per hour

Sunday: $45.15 per hour

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of experience in a similar role, preferably in grounds maintenance or landscaping, with a proven ability to handle physical and outdoor work.
• Comprehensive knowledge of turf management, horticulture and pressure washing 
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills to build professional, courteous relationships with guests, co-workers, and management, and to assist with maintaining a positive guest experience
• Ability to work outdoors in a physically demanding position, with a willingness to take on challenging tasks in all weather conditions.
• Flexibility and availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays, to meet the operational needs of the property.
