UGL Fuels & Energy are seeking applications from experienced HVAC Technicians for an upcoming opportunity.  Based on Curtis Island, off the coast of Gladstone Central Qld, you will join and established maintenance team working on a live gas plant.  Our contract with our client is secure having successfully negotiated our next term and extensions.   
These positions are residential roles and local applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. 

About the role

The HVAC Technician is responsible for providing HVAC services with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading HVAC systems and equipment; assisting other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Diagnosing causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs
Fabricating equipment parts for the purpose of meeting specialty needs and/or replacing unavailable parts
Inspecting HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance
Perform skilled Mechanical/Electrical maintenance and fault-finding duties on chilled water units
Installing heating and air conditioning equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities
Performing routine and preventive maintenance as needed for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC systems. Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying Information
Requesting equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary Installation and/or repair
Responding to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
Assists in the preparation of JHA's, permits and other site documentation as required

About You 

You will inspire your team, draw on their diverse skills and create an environment where great ideas are heard, and everyone looks out for one another. Ideally you will have\: 

Qualified as Dual Trade Certificate for Refrigeration and Electrical.
Qld Driver’s License
A minimum of five years' experience in a similar role
Current QLD "C" Class Driver's License
Forklift (desirable)
Ability to contribute to a high-performing team
Experience to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously
