About the Role:

Downer is a leading provider of integrated facilities services across Australia and New Zealand. We’re currently seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join our team at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

In this role, you’ll deliver a mix of preventative and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, and installations across a range of HVAC plant and equipment — helping to maintain a safe and comfortable environment in one of South Australia’s most critical healthcare facilities. We’re currently seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join our team at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, maintenance and repair of centralised plant and HVAC systems
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
  • Performing scheduled servicing, performance testing and system adjustments
  • Cleaning, calibrating, and maintaining systems in accordance with warranties and compliance
  • Participation in all Zero Harm initiatives
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, incidents, and safety concerns
  • Promoting a proactive, team-focused safety culture
  • Managing and scheduling your own work effectively
  • Supporting service improvement, quality control and risk mitigation
  • Working collaboratively with clinical staff, internal technicians, and contractors
  • Communicating clearly through written documentation (timesheets, service sheets, dockets)

About you:

  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning
  • HVAC trade certification
  • South Australian Restricted Electrical Licence
  • White Card (WHS General Induction)
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s licence
  • First Aid Certificate (Desirable)
  • Solid experience in HVAC installation, servicing and repair
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards
  • Safe work practices, including working at heights and with EWP
  • A team mindset with good communication and customer service skills
  • A reliable, organised approach and a commitment to excellence
