Salary: $43 per hour plus superannuation

Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking a qualified and dependable HVAC Technician to support the ongoing maintenance and care of a large, highly regulated healthcare precinct on the Gold Coast.

Reporting to the Technical Services team, you will work collaboratively with site stakeholders and BGIS colleagues to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across critical mechanical systems, ensuring comfort, reliability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance across HVAC systems, including chillers, package units, split systems, ventilation and filtration
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults in a timely, considered manner
  • Maintain and inspect chilled water systems, BMS interfaces, and associated equipment
  • Complete service documentation accurately and contribute to reporting requirements
  • Build respectful, professional relationships with site stakeholders and service partners
  • Support a safe, well-organised workplace aligned with BGIS values and systems

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Trade qualification in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
  • Refrigerant Handling Licence (Arctick)
  • Restricted Electrical Licence
  • White Card (General Construction Induction)
  • Current Driver’s Licence (manual capability)
  • 1–5 years’ experience in a similar HVAC role (all levels encouraged to apply)
  • Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach

Desirable:

  • Experience working in healthcare or other regulated environments
  • Familiarity with BMS and preventative maintenance programs
  • Interest in ongoing learning and skills development

Workplace Flexibility

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Southport, close to public transport. The position offers stable hours, monthly RDOs, and predictable scheduling to support balance outside of work.
