Major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in South Australia
This role sits within our New Energy portfolio, supporting the safe delivery of nationally significant renewable infrastructure projects. UGL is a leader in Australia’s energy transition, delivering large‑scale solar, wind and battery energy storage (BESS) projects end to end across the country.
Your first assignment will be the Goyder Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), located at Bundey, northeast of Adelaide, a critical utility‑scale battery project supporting grid stability and enabling further renewable generation across South Australia.

About the role
As an HSE Advisor, you will support site delivery across all construction activities, working closely with the Project Team and reporting to the site HSE Manager.
This is a hands‑on, site‑based role, supporting frontline teams, driving compliance, and ensuring consistent application of the HSE Management System across civil, electrical, high‑voltage, transmission and commissioning works. Strong field presence and practical engagement are key to success in this role.
Key responsibilities
Provide practical, day‑to‑day HSE support across site activities.
Support pre‑starts, toolbox talks and on‑site safety conversations.
Conduct regular site walks, inspections and safety interactions.
Assist with incident reporting, investigations and follow‑up actions.
Manage HSE documentation, reporting and compliance with UGL’s HSE Management System.
What we offer
About you
Experience as an HSE Advisor in construction, energy, utilities, mining or similar high‑risk environment.
Comfortable working FIFO on a 10/4 roster.
Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or equivalent.
Ability to work autonomously while remaining highly team focused.
Strong site presence and practical approach to compliance.
