Description

Based at either our Brindley Park (near Roma) or Opal Creek (near Cecil Plains) feedlots, the role of Heavy Diesel Mechanic works within our maintenance teams and enjoys loads of variety working on a range of feedlot vehicles, plant and equipment. Your day-to-day duties will include (but not limited to):



  • Carrying out scheduled maintenance inspections & activities in line with manufacturer specifications/service manuals including oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups

  • Investigating, diagnosing & actioning mechanical faults 

  • Undertaking a range of mechanical repairs, replacements, testing and checking including engine assemblies, transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes

  • Following safe work instructions and adhering to chemical handling/storage 

  • Maintaining a safe, organised workshop and work area 

  • Accurate record keeping and logbook/servicing history


You’ll be rewarded with a salary package between $70,000 - $85,000 per annum base income, plus 11.5% superannuation, ongoing training and development. 


About you


You will have a minimum of 3 years’ demonstrated experience working on a broad range of vehicles, plant and equipment along with the following skills, attributes and qualifications:



  • Trade qualifications as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic essential (Automotive Specialisation preferred) 

  • Ability to confidently diagnose faults on site & in the workshop 

  • Welding and Fabrication experience (desirable) 

  • Knowledge of standards and regulations associated with a mechanical workshop plant and equipment 

  • Ability to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently 

  • Ability to document, record and track servicing and maintenance of all vehicles 

  • Flexibility and strong work ethic 

  • Full/unrestricted drivers' licence (essential) 

  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to OH&S/WHS policies, procedures and regulations 

  • Reliable and honest 

  • Forklift & truck licences (desirable) 

  • Agricultural background/experience (desirable)
