Maas Repairs is excited to share we are building a bigger team to meet demands for our expanding businesses. We are looking for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Rockhampton Queensland who is keen to contribute to the continued growth of the business.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Heavy Diesel Mechanic is responsible for servicing the multiple businesses within Central Queensland area trading under the MGH Group of companies which include Civil, Heavy Haulage and Construction Materials sectors.

 

About the role:

  • Continuous Improvement for Safe Work practices
  • Routine servicing of plant & equipment
  • Liaising with direct managers and supervisors daily
  • Asset repairs and fault finding
  • Assess and carry out breakdown repairs
  • Asset condition reports and inspections
  • Work to tight schedules whilst maintaining the highest standards
  • Adopt and continue with Lean practices to ensure quality and cost efficiency with all repairs and maintenance
  • Maintaining company tools and equipment
  • Ownership of major repairs, working efficiently while maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Challenge yourself with a mindset of best practice and continuous improvement
  • Maintaining professional and clear communication with all company staff

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Relevant Australian recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic certificates
  • Experience in multiple fields (i.e. mobile plant and highway trucks)
  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to getting the job done
  • Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety
  • A person who is approachable with excellent people management skills
  • A team player who is action focused and result-oriented, who quickly comes up to speed on repairs and priority breakdowns
  • Ability to problem solve and engage their peers to achieve best possible outcomes
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with a range of individuals
  • Experience in working in a high-performance team
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Full working rights within Australia
