We are a tight-knit ‘Fleet Family’ and we live and breathe our values of respect, connection, ownership and everyone is a leader with a valued voice.

No two days are the same. You’ll be working across a broad mix of equipment including heavy vehicles, earthmoving machinery, road making equipment, light vehicles, landscaping equipment, buggies and woodchippers and specialised equipment that supports essential Council services.

What you’ll enjoy in this role:

  • A safety-first workshop culture with modern tools and systems
  • Secure employment and work-life balance. A four day working week, 6:30am to 4:30pm, 38 hours per week
  • Opportunities to build skills beyond the tools.

More than just a mechanical role, this position offers exposure to fleet and asset management practices. You’ll gain an understanding of lifecycle planning, maintenance strategies, reliability and data-driven decision making.

If you’re interested in progressing your career, we also offer leadership and development opportunities. This includes cross skilling in other mechanical trades, mentoring apprentices, acting supervisor roles, formal training and pathways into senior technical or leadership positions.

  • Trade qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
  • Experience working on light vehicles, heavy vehicles, major plant and minor plant
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Interest in quality maintenance and asset care
  • Willingness to learn, share knowledge and be part of a supportive team
