About the role 

Civeo Australia are looking for highly experienced FIFO Head Chefs to work closely with the Village & Catering Managers to deliver exceptional food to our Villages across WA. The primary focus of the role is to ensure a smooth and profitable kitchen operation for the village. This is a fly-in-fly-out role (FIFO) departing from Perth on 8:6 rosters.

Experience: 

  • 5+ years’ cumulative chef experience, preferably working in a large hotel or remote village environment (FIFO or DIDO) with at least 3+ years supervising and managing of a team of chefs 

  • Experience with ordering, storing, preparing and delivering food service 

  • Strong experience in a bulk/batch cooking environment. 

  • Ordering, profit and wastage reporting 

  • Client relationship management and support 

Skills and Knowledge: 

  • Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or Trade certificate. 

  • Applied knowledge of HACCP principles in a bulk cooking environment 

  • Ability to create service schedules on a daily, weekly and monthly basis 

  • Applied knowledge of workplace safety systems and compliance requirements 

  • Intermediate skills with regards to Microsoft Office applications 

  • Budgetary and analytical skills 

  • Knowledge of relevant kitchen chemicals, including their application and storage. 

  • You must have a valid drivers’ licence (Class C).
