We are seeking a motivated and reliable Handyperson to join our Maintenance team. This hands on role is responsible for the general maintenance, repair and presentation of the hotel, ensuring our guest rooms, public areas and facilities are maintained to the highest standard.

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, functional and welcoming environment for our guests and team members through preventative maintenance, repairs and day to day operational support.

About the Role

As a Handyperson, you will be responsible for carrying out a broad range of maintenance tasks across the hotel while working closely with the Maintenance team and other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the property.

What you'll be doing

  • Completing general repairs and maintenance, including painting, patching, minor carpentry and basic plumbing tasks
  • Responding to maintenance requests in guest rooms, public areas and back of house locations in a timely manner
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to ensure hotel facilities remain in excellent condition
  • Assisting with ad hoc maintenance projects and property improvements as required
  • Identifying maintenance issues proactively and reporting larger repairs or contractor requirements to the Maintenance Manager
  • Supporting the overall presentation and appearance of the hotel to ensure an exceptional guest experience
  • Working collaboratively with other departments to minimise disruption to hotel operations

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Must have valid working rights in Australia
  • Previous experience in general building maintenance, property maintenance or a similar role is preferred
  • Experience with painting and general repair work
  • Broad practical knowledge of building and facilities maintenance
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise competing tasks
  • Reliable, honest and committed to delivering high quality work
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • A positive attitude and willingness to provide exceptional service

A trade qualification or previous handyman experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
