Summary


We are looking for a highly motivated, qualified and experienced HVAC Technician to maintain and install our aviation critical air conditioning and mechanical systems. If you are passionate about maintaining high reliability air conditioning systems and have an interest in expanding your knowledge into unique RADAR and power generation systems, this role is for you. This is a Brisbane based role and will involve some travel throughout Australia, it comes with an attractive salary, flexibility and plenty of benefits.

The Role & The Team


In this role you will be part of a high performing team who are responsible for carrying out maintenance and installation activities on critical air traffic control and aviation rescue and firefighting systems, ensuring the operational safety and integrity of the Australian national airways system.


As a member of this team you would be responsible for:



  • Performance of time sensitive preventive and corrective maintenance, and project installation activities in accordance with prescribed processes and procedures;

  • Maintaining an awareness and understanding of the impact that work undertaken can have on Airservices systems;

  • Timely and accurate data entry into the maintenance management systems;

  • Actively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of service delivery and work practices.

The Person


The successful applicant will have:



  • Demonstrated experience maintaining and installing air conditioning systems such as: chilled water systems, cooling towers, air handling units, building control and monitoring systems, packaged units and split systems;

  • A demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise, organise and perform activities with limited guidance, for cost effective outcomes;

  • Knowledge and understanding of the policies, procedures and legislation relevant to the position;

  • A strong commitment to working in a team environment with a focus on delivering the highest level of customer service.


The following qualifications are essential to be considered for this role:



  • Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

  • Current refrigeration handling licence (ARCTICK)

  • Current Queensland Restricted Electrical Licence (REL)

  • Current CPR/LVR

  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence

  • Construction industry White Card

  • Be eligible to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)


The following are desired, but not essential:



  • Experience with diesel generating sets and mechanical systems

  • Licence to Perform High Risk Work – Dogging


This role performs Safety Sensitive Aviation Activities and as such is subjected to our Drug and Alcohol Management Procedure (DAMP).
