Part of the Robert Plumb Collective, and newly merged with Captive Cabinetmaking, Cranbrook Workshop is in a growth phase with a strong pipeline of upcoming projects. Cranbrook Workshop specialises in custom joinery and cabinetry, balancing modern carpentry technologies with care and craft. We provide all types of joinery from simple solutions to more highly articulated interior designer led treatments.

We are welcoming applications from both experienced Furniture Makers and Apprentices looking to build a long-term career in the industry.

  • You have experience in furniture making or an genuine interest in the industry
  • You’re passionate about timber and woodwork
  • You have a strong eye for detail and take pride in your work
  • You're reliable, organised and work well within a team
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and a great attitude

About the Role

As an apprentice, you'll develop your skills alongside experienced tradespeople, gaining exposure to a variety of core workshop activities. In your role as a Furniture Maker, you'll help deliver high-quality, custom timber products, with responsibilities such as:

  • Crafting individual solid timber pieces to specification
  • Constructing and assembling components with precision
  • Collaborating with a skilled team to produce exceptional results
  • Operating workshop machinery and maintaining a safe, clean workspace
  • Contributing to the innovation and quality of our product range
