About the BHP Operations Services FutureFit Academy (OS FFA)
The BHP OS FutureFit Academies are a purpose-built facilities revolutionizing pathways into mining maintenance and production services. Campuses have been established in Forrestfield, Western Australia and Mackay, Queensland. The nationally recognized curriculums delivered include heavy diesel, mechanical, fabrication, auto-electrical trades and production services (equipment operators) and are designed in-line with industry best practice and current education methodologies that blend theoretical, practical and virtual reality simulation training in well-equipped Mobile and Fixed Plant Workshop environments.
About the Role
The OS FFA Forrestfield delivers a range of Maintenance programs including Trade Apprenticeships (Certificate III in Engineering – Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic, Fabrication), Maintenance Traineeships (Certificate II in Engineering – Fixed and Mobile Plant) and Auto-Electrician Apprenticeships.
The FFA Forrestfield Fixed Plant Team are currently seeking multiple Mechanical Trainer-Assessors to deliver both Certificate II and Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical programs. If you are someone with Fixed Plant experience and a passion for sharing your technical knowledge, site and life experiences with the next generation of Fixed Plant Maintenance personnel this could be the role for you.
The role is based in Perth working an 8/6 roster reporting to the Supervisor FFA – Mechanical. The roster is an AM/PM shift rotation with the AM Shift 6am-4.30pm and PM Shift 1.30pm-Midnight. Your first PM Shift is a dedicated Personnel Development and Curriculum Preparation Day.

If you have experience in Mechanical/Fixed Plant Environments and are driven by a desire to develop others, we are looking for you. While a Cert IV TAE is highly desirable, we may be able to assist in attaining this for the right candidate.
