About the role

We're offering a fantastic opportunity for Mechanical Fitters to join our team. If you're passionate about making a positive impact, then this role is for you. Your main responsibility will be to provide expertise and support to the Mechanical / Electrical team and take care of the installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of water and sewer infrastructure.

We are looking for experienced Fitter's who can share their expertise and work collaboratively towards projects that benefit our community. The team recently completed some exciting projects that included remounting and servicing of 110kw electric motor and gearbox, an overhaul of treatment plant step screens and overhaul of cloth filter systems. Some upcoming projects include the replacement of 20 submersible sewerage pumping station pumps varying from 3kw to 90kw. If you feel you can bring your skills and passion to contribute to our successful team this may be the ideal role for you.

Do you have these key attributes?

  • Extensive demonstrated experience in mechanical maintenance and water industry operations.
  • The expertise to safely operate various machinery and equipment.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively across multiple platforms and with numerous stakeholders.
  • Skills in supervising a successful team and working collaboratively.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise tasks accordingly.

What's on offer?

  • Salary starting from $72k per annum + Superannuation
  • Additional allowances paid were applicable
  • Permanent Full Time, 38 hours per week
  • Options to accrue flex time and flexible working arrangements
  • Generous leave entitlements - long service leave after 5 years
  • Scope for performance-based salary increases

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an on-call roster and complete overtime or out-of-hours work. This is an inherent requirement of the role, and applicable allowances will apply.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Trade Certificate in Fitter Machinist, Motor Mechanic or Plant Mechanic.
  • Class C Driver's license.
  • National Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
  • Experience with general metal fabrication and welding to facilitate machinery repair.

Desirable

  • Class MR drivers' licence
  • High Risk Work Licence - Forklift Truck (FL)
  • High Risk Work Licence - Crane up to 20t (C2)
  • High Risk Work Licence - Dogging (DG)
  • RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights
  • RIIWHS202E Enter and work in confined spaces
  • First Aid
