We are seeking trade-qualified Fitter and Turner to join our Liberty Street branch in Cairns, the largest CRG centre in Far North Queensland! Become a vital part of Hastings Deering’s next chapter and join our team today. Multiple Permanent Monday to Thursday positions are available!

These opportunities will best suit those who hold an Engine Reconditioning Fitter/Turner qualification.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Fitter Turner at Hastings Deering, you will:

• Engine Reconditioning: Perform reconditioning works on CAT engines and components.
• Reclamation: Reuse and salvage of various parts and components.
• Team Collaboration: Work as part of a skilled and driven team to achieve operational goals.
• Culture & Communication: Display fairness, build trust, and maintain respectful relationships through open lines of communication.

What you’ll need:

A successful teammate will have: 

• Trade Qualified: Engine Reconditioning, Fitter/Turner, Fitter Machinist or similar trade qualification.
• Technical Interest: Genuine passion for engines, components, and large machinery or equipment.
• Reclamation Experience: ID Welding, Line boring, Lathe and Milling machine experience and Component Reclamation experience with reuse and salvage is desirable.
• Safety Commitment: Dedicated to upholding our strong safety culture and No Harm Environment.
• Work Ethic: Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and excellent organisational skills.
