Our respected client in Australia is actively seeking proficient Fitter & Turners to join their industrious team. This role is integral in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and machinery across various industries. As a Fitter & Turner, your expertise will play a crucial role in the precision crafting, fitting, and assembling of mechanical components, thereby maintaining high standards of operational efficiency and safety. 
 

To be considered for this role, applicants must: 

  • Have substantial experience in fitting and turning, with a minimum of 5 years in the field. 

  • Provide relevant documentation such as payslips, proof of previous employment, a valid passport, and police clearances. 
     

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Interpret technical drawings and plans to understand machinery and component specifications. 

  • Perform precise measurements and calculations for machining, fitting, and assembly tasks. 

  • Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut and shape metal parts. 

  • Assemble, fit, and install machined parts into mechanisms and machines. 

  • Conduct regular maintenance and repair work on machinery, ensuring optimal functionality. 

  • Collaborate with engineers and other professionals on mechanical design and modifications. 

  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and quality standards in all work processes. 

  • Diagnose issues in machinery and mechanical systems and provide effective solutions. 

  • Maintain detailed records of all machining, fitting, and maintenance work. 
     

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Fitter & Turner role. 

  • Relevant qualifications or apprenticeship in mechanical fitting and turning. 

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and perform precise measurements. 

  • Proficient in English for effective communication within a diverse team environment.
