About this opportunity

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor, the individual is responsible for fault finding and proactively repairing site and production machinery as well as preventative maintenance, which enables the site and production team to run efficiently and produce high quality products.

As well as the above, the individual will also be responsible for production machine/product change overs when required.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Production line set up and Product change overs
  •  Attend & rectify production line issues in a timely manner
  • Fault finding
  • Preventative maintenance and servicing of production equipment
  • Responsible for maintenance tools and cleanliness of their work areas
  • Repair/replacement of production machinery parts
  • Assist in the daily operations of site services (Compressor, Chillers, WWTP)
  • Complete preventative maintenance as per maintenance scheduling
  • Constant review of production lines to ensure optimal output.
  • Strict compliance with all Jalco/Pact systems, standards, policies and procedures
  • Implement site safety procedures
  • Observe good manufacturing practice and comply with all GMP requirements

Training

•    Be willing to undertake any training that is deemed relevant to the position
•    Attend and complete all training as required
 

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintenance issues
  • Strong Technical aptitude
  • Reliable, motivated and punctual
  • Ability to work as part of team
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high paced environment
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and independently
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and sequence work operations to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to take direction from other staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven ability to spot/frame issues as well as strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Welding experience an advantage
  • Previous experience with Tube sealing, Sachet filling/sealing and bottle labelling an advantage

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Preferred - Manufacturing background (fast moving consumable goods)
  • Fitter, Fitter & Turner or Fitter/Machinist Qualification
