Civeo Australia is seeking experienced Head Chefs, Sous Chefs, and Line Chefs to join our team at Prominent Hill, South Australia. These pivotal roles are essential in ensuring smooth and profitable kitchen operations for our village. All positions are fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) roles departing from Adelaide or Port Augusta.
About the Roles
Head Chef:
- Salary: $124k + Super on all hours worked, fortnightly pay
- Roster: 8:6 FIFO
- Responsibilities: Work closely with Village & Catering Managers, manage kitchen operations, ensure exceptional food delivery, oversee ordering, storing, preparing, and delivering food service, manage client relationships, and support.
Sous Chef:
- Salary: $110k + Super on all hours worked, fortnightly pay
- Roster: 2:1 FIFO
- Responsibilities: Assist Head Chefs, manage kitchen operations, ensure smooth service, oversee ordering, profit and wastage reporting, and support client relationships.
Line Chef:
- Salary: $105k + Super on all hours worked, fortnightly pay
- Roster: 2:1 FIFO
- Responsibilities: Assist the kitchen team in preparing and cooking for various meals and functions, ensure smooth and profitable kitchen operations, oversee batch/bulk cooking for large groups.

Chef Experience Required:
- Head Chef: 5+ years’ cumulative chef experience, preferably in a large hotel or remote village environment, with at least 3+ years supervising and managing a team of chefs
- Sous Chef: 3+ years’ cumulative chef experience in a remote village environment, with 2+ years supervising and managing a team of chefs
- Line Chef: 2+ years post-trade commercial cooking experience, experience cooking in batch/bulk for large groups
Chef Qualifications Required:
- Certificate III/ IV in Commercial Cookery or Trade certificate
- Apply knowledge of Food safety & HACCP principles
- Ability to create service schedules on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- Confidently apply knowledge of workplace safety systems and manage compliance requirements
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office applications
- Valid manual drivers’ licence (Class C)
