About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Light Vehicle Mechanic to live and work in Ramingining, East Arnhem Land. In this role, you will provide essential servicing and maintenance to the surrounding homelands, which are often accessible only by light plane or boat.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform servicing and maintenance for local councils, civil contractors, and government projects.
• Conduct advanced diagnostics and repairs, with a focus on Toyota light vehicles.
• Perform air conditioning repairs for Toyota vehicles.
• Operate independently to deliver maintenance services in remote islands and communities.
• Maintain accurate records and report any defects to supervisors to ensure timely parts procurement and repairs.

Equipment Youll Work On

• Toyota, Hino, Caterpillar, John Deere, Isuzu, Hitachi, and Komatsu vehicles and machinery.

Communities You'll Serve

• Galiwinku, Ramingining, Gapuwiyak, and Milingimbi.

About You
We're looking for a motivated and adaptable mechanic who thrives on working independently and values cultural respect and professionalism in diverse communities.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Diesel mechanic trade certificate with at least three years of experience.
• Expertise in servicing and repairing Toyota 4x4 vehicles.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
• A respectful and culturally sensitive approach to working in Aboriginal communities.
• A current driver's license.

Desirable Skills

• Air conditioning repair experience.
• Knowledge of electrical system repairs.
• Computer literacy for maintaining detailed job records.
