About the Company
Our client is a well-established Sydney-based landscape and civil construction company delivering landmark projects that shape cities and transform communities. With a strong reputation across health, education, public domain, sporting facilities and major developments, they partner with Tier 1 builders, local authorities and leading developers to deliver landscape and civil packages on some of NSW's most recognised projects.
 
Following a period of sustained growth, they are looking to add an experienced Estimator to a stable, well-led team.
 
About the Role
This is a key appointment within an established estimating function, reporting to a hands-on Estimating Manager. You will take ownership of pricing for projects ranging from $1m to $20m, working across a strong pipeline of Tier 1 builder tenders and local authority submissions. The successful candidate will be capable of running tenders independently from take-off through to submission, with the Estimating Manager available for support, technical input and review where needed.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and tender submissions for landscape and civil construction projects valued between $1m and $20m
• Price Tier 1 builder sub-contract packages and local authority principal contractor tenders
• Conduct accurate quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications and BOQs
• Source and negotiate competitive pricing from suppliers and sub-contractors
• Review tender documentation, identify risks, scope gaps and value engineering opportunities
• Liaise with clients, builders, consultants and internal delivery teams during the tender process
• Contribute to handover meetings with the project delivery team on awarded works
• Maintain accurate records of pricing, rates and historical project data

About You

• Demonstrated estimating experience within landscape construction, civil construction or a closely related discipline (hardscape, public domain, streetscape or commercial landscape)
• Proven ability to run tenders end-to-end with minimal supervision
• Strong commercial acumen and a sharp eye for risk, scope and detail
• Confident reading drawings, specifications and contract documentation
• Experienced pricing for Tier 1 builders and/or local government clients
• Sound knowledge of subcontractor and supplier markets across NSW
• Proficient with estimating software (Cubit, Buildsoft, Expert Estimation or similar) and Microsoft Excel
• Trade or tertiary qualifications in construction, civil engineering, landscape construction or quantity surveying preferred
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
