Are you a current Fitter & Turner Apprentice looking to further develop your skills and take the next step in your career? Community Solutions has a new host business that is looking for an apprentice with CNC experience that has fallen out of trade (2nd/3rd or 4th year) or looking to rotate into a new business to gain new experience & complete their apprenticeship to become trade qualified.

The successful candidate must have strong knowledge and passion for the industry and some experience with CNC Machinery. Our host business has been 50 years in business and offers engineering needs and solutions in automotive, transport, medical, protective fire systems and garage door industries with the factory being equipped with multiple examples of the latest generation 8 and 10 axis CNC machines available in the world. 

The apprenticeship will involve:    

• Set up machinery to enable the manufacture of engineering products
• Repair and replace components parts and other items 
• Install plant and machinery 
• Design modifications to existing components 
• Maintenance of plant and equipment                                        

Requirements:

• Must have strong knowledge of the trade
• Being an existing Engineering Apprentice is preferred
• Understand the importance of workplace health and safety
• Have good communication skill
• Enjoy practical work
• Have good hand-eye coordination
• Construction White Card, or willing to obtain
• Manual Driver’s licence highly regarded

Community Solutions is a non-for-profit organisation operating as a commercial business, providing apprentices and trainees to a variety of different businesses throughout the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane. We provide apprentices and trainees important career guidance and opportunity to earn while they learn. Dedicated Field Officers are assigned to apprentices and trainees to provide ongoing support to completing their chosen trade qualification.
