The Engine Technician role is fundamental to supporting our growing and varied customer base throughout APAC. We require an Engine Technician who will be able to complete tasks related to:

  • Machining of previously manufactured parts that are in the process of repair to restore specific features to acceptable limits with respect to size and position relative to existing part features as defined in the repair process documentation.
  • Application of protective coatings including treatment of bare metal, painting, varnish and Sermetal coatings by spray application.
  • Assist with engineering the creation of repair work scopes for specific parts including the sequence of operations and tooling requirements
  • Manufacturing of tooling, jigs and fixtures in accordance with detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Manufacture of small components (sleeves, etc.) in accordance with detail parts drawings. 
  • Ensure tool control is maintained as per procedures (to include equipment asset inventory)
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all departments at all levels.
  • Prepare components that require protective coatings by use of blasting machines, de-greasing and masking.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

The applicant needs to hold a Certificate IV in Aeroskills or an Australian recognised Aircraft Trade qualification, with at least 2 years of experience in an engine environment. Ideally but not essential, you will have experience on PT6 engine models along with a working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney Canada publications including overhaul and maintenance manuals, parts catalogues and service bulletins.  Applicants with relevant skills from a non aviation background will also be considered  

You need to be committed to being a highly customer-focused team worker, who can demonstrate flexibility when required, be motivated and willing to take on new initiatives. You will also be a self-starter and have excellent communication skills.
