Why Enerven? We’re glad you asked. As an Enerven Apprentice, you get:

  • Hands-on experience: Work alongside and be mentored by qualified and experienced professionals committed to your development across a wide range of projects.
  • Career growth: Learn through an award-winning program designed to rotate you through a range of workgroups and/or projects to build the skills and experience that will set your career up for success.
  • More: Earn above award rates (including for mature aged), plus allowances, overtime, $900 towards your electricity bill, and that’s only the beginning.

The opportunities

  • Electrical Apprentice - Depot location: Direk

As an Enerven Electrical Apprentice you will gain practical, hands-on experience working in substation construction and maintenance, transformer maintenance, customer connection and emergency supply restoration, while completing a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.

You will be eligible for an Electrical Worker’s Licence that allows you to build and work on both domestic and commercial electrical installations. Additional training is included so you can work on high voltage equipment in substations.

  • Powerline Apprentice (Distribution) - Depot Location: Ferryden Park

As an Enerven Powerline Distribution Apprentice you will gain practical, hands-on experience working on the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical powerlines and structures to ensure the community is connected to the grid. Upon completion, you will hold a Certificate III in ESI - Distribution Overhead and an Electrical Worker's Licence (Restricted).

  • Powerline Apprentice (Transmission) - Depot location: Direk

When we talk about Transmission Lines, think of the large steel towers that carry high voltage powerlines. It's how electricity is transported over long distances to where it is needed. Transmission towers range from approx. 20 - 120 meters high and carry high voltage lines of 132kV, 275kV and up to 330kV. Some may call the Transmission workers, the hardcore electricians.

As an Enerven Powerline Transmission Apprentice you will gain practical experience working on the construction, refurbishment and maintenance of Transmission lines and structures using a range of specialised skills and resources. You’ll receive a Certificate III in ESI – Transmission Overhead and an Electrical Worker's Licence (Restricted). This is a trade that is anticipated to have an increased demand over the next 10 years.
