Electrician - Testing and Commissioning Technician

The Role:

• Ensure throughout the testing and factory acceptance stages of work that all electrical work, electrical test activities on electrical installations comply with Australian Standards and legislative requirements.
• Provide training to workshop personnel when performing testing activities.
• From time to time, you may be required to assist with field service with site works
• Ensure all test equipment used is calibrated in line with manufacturers requirements and Australian Standard requirements.
• Perform workshop testing and commissioning of Ampcontrol products in compliance to the customer specification, contracts, standards, codes and appropriate legislative requirements.
• Document all testing, commissioning and validation to meet the requirements of the customer specification, contracts, standards, codes and appropriate legislative requirements.
• Compliance to the relevant national and international standards (including ISO9001, AS4801, ISO14001 and AS3800)

Skills:

• Proven capability to work effectively within a team or work crew
• Demonstrated highly effective organisational and planning skills
• Demonstrated ability to investigate and solve technical and practical problems
• Applied experience in reading and interpreting schematic and wiring diagrams
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent understanding of electrical switchgear and control systems
• Diagnostic testing of electrical equipment utilities and mining and power transmission
• Demonstrated experience in resolving problems predominately technical in nature
• Experience working with or on customer sites

Qualifications:

• Cert III Electrotechnology (or equivalent)
• Experience in the testing of electrical equipment, control systems, high voltage switchgear and relay testing experience.
