• TCSA Wages Employees' Award, Electrician Grade 1, annual base salary starting from $70,368 + 11.5% superannuation + appropriate penalties and allowances where applicable

Taronga Zoo Sydney is looking for an Electrician to join our assets team! This is an exciting opportunity to work in a totally unique environment!    

Your day at Taronga zoo is never the same! You’ll find yourself working on animal exhibits, function spaces, restaurants, equipment, education spaces, events spaces, research laboratories, wildlife hospital + many different environments! All whilst overlooking Sydney’s incredible harbor!

About the Role…

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, this position will provide a broad range of electrical services including installation, repair, testing, maintenance on High Voltage and Low Voltage systems and construction work.

• This position operates on a rotating roster, ensuring that no more than 19 days are worked within any 28-day cycle, including one weekend every four weeks.
• Standard hours are from 7:00am to 3:45pm.

Key Accountabilities…

• Complete all trade and non-trade related work activities as scheduled and allocated by the Leading Hand Electrician or management.
• Adhere to work requisition system and follow through with projects in an efficient and effective manner.
• Operate a range of electrical fitting equipment used to maintain the presentation of the zoo facilities.
• Work effectively as a member of a high performing team, to assist Taronga in its achievement of strategic outcomes.
• Ensure work is performed in a timely, cost effective manner to prescribed quality standards to meet stakeholder and Taronga needs.
• Comply with and suggest sustainability practices in the workplace to help achieve Taronga’s sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.

About You…

We are looking for candidates that have:

• Electrical Trade Qualification.
• Hold Current NSW A Grade Electricians License.
• Current NSW Drivers License or ability to have existing license formally recognised including manual.
• Certification in High Voltage or Confined Spaces not essential, although highly regarded.
• Obtain and maintain a current paid NSW Working with Children Check
