Job Description

The primary purpose of the role is to maintain electrical equipment and keep equipment running, troubleshoot electrical & automation related downtimes in the factory, participate in Planned maintenance, maintaining stock of electrical goods and work towards continuous Improvement.

Main Accountabilities

  • Maintain the Safety requirements of the site
  • Ensure Safety Lockouts are performed correctly
  • Training and coaching staff members
  • Ensure Safety and control measures are maintained
  • Diagnose faults
  • Organise installation work
  • Liaise with onsite contractors
  • Work within the budget
  • Manage Installs, tests, commissions machinery
  • Diagnose, maintain and repair electrical and electronic equipment, networks and systems
  • Reads drawings, electrical diagrams and specifications to determine job requirements plans, measures and lays out installation reference points
  • Selects, cuts and connects wire and cable to terminals and connectors uses electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults repairs or replaces faulty wiring and defective parts
  • Positions and installs electrical switchboards
  • Connects electrical systems and equipment to power supplies
  • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure safety and electrical characteristics such as voltage, resistance and phase angle
  • Installs, tests and adjusts electric and mechanical parts of equipment
  • Communicate with Professional Engineers or Architects on the positioning of electrical systems
  • Reporting structure, Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Planner, Process Engineers, Site Operations Manager
  • Maintenance Fitters to achieve harmonious rapid repairs and upgrades

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A seasoned industrial electrical specialist with over 7 years+ experience within the manufacturing industries. Experience of working in FMCG manufacturing will be added advantage
  • Technical hands-on ability in factory automation solutions with the application know how necessary to create and maintain special purpose machinery, production control and software design through to full control system retrofits and plant wide project management.
  • Specialises and excels in advanced products including machine vision inspection systems, PLC / HMI programming, robotic programming and control system networking.

Accreditation / Qualification Requirements

  • Licensed Electrical tradesperson (A-Grade)
  • Advanced Omron Vision Systems
  • Advanced PLC programming certificate
  • Machinery risk assessment and design certificate AS4024 – Advantageous
  • Allen Bradley PLC programming certificate
  • Siemens PLC Programming course
  • ABB industrial Robot programming
  • Industrial Electronics Cert IV – Advantageous
