Anglo American Steelmaking Coal
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.
Dawson is located at the southern end of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, being just over a 2hrs drive west from either Rockhampton or Gladstone, or 4.5hrs drive north of the Darling Downs or South Burnett.
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to assist in the delivery of robust engineering and maintenance within the Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP) department at our Dawson Mine in Moura, QLD.
Reporting to the CHPP Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrical Technician performs all logistical and electrical maintenance functions within the Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP) in order to optimise the performance and ensure availability of the CHPP process in accordance with the Dawson Mine business plan.
You will have a positive and energetic attitude towards team involvement and contribution to the CHPP team. You will want to show exceptional communication and people skills, possessing knowledge and experience with an ability to build relationships and work in a team environment.
You will possess at least three (3) years’ electrical trade experience including maintenance inspections, industrial installations, fault finding and repair of equipment including HV Infrastructure, Yard Machines (Stackers/Reclaimers), Conveying Equipment, Motor Control Centres, Instrumentation, PLC, Citect SCADA and pneumatic systems.
High Voltage Switching, Instrumentation, PLC, and SCADA control systems experience, along with competencies in Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform, Forklift, Confined Space and HR Truck License is advantageous.
