We’re currently looking for an Electrician at Huhtamaki in Preston, Victoria and you should be within reasonable commuting distance from here. This role will be predominantly working on day shift with a rotational pattern for availability on call.
What you’ll be doing
Working in a team environment
Undertaking duties in a safe and responsible manner
Operation of appropriate materials handling equipment
Perform duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and instructions
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Promote and maintain a safe work environment
Indicative tasks include
Perform maintenance and repair on plant and equipment
Maintain inventory of spare parts using order books system
Make proactive suggestions for improved operations, practices and procedures
Carry out unplanned/planned maintenance on failed, faulty or damaged assets
Perform preventative (inspections and servicing) and scheduled maintenance on operating plant and mechanical equipment to meet internal customer requirements
Use fault-finding techniques, knowledge and understanding of machinery to identify and repair machine breakdowns.
Perform all duties within the limits of skill, competence and training, to product outcomes that are delivered safely and efficiently
Accurately record job data during the progress of work
Complete accurate daily task sheets for all works undertaken
Complete safety electrical monthly checklists
Complete electrical certificates for all works
Various cabling installations
Inspection and test and tagging of new and current electrical equipment
Read and understand electrical circuit diagrams
Install, service and repair lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets and wiring
Project work from time to time as directed by Maintenance Manager
What you’ll bring to the role
Satisfactory completion of induction program and training (as required by the company)
Proven and demonstrated skills and experience including industry certification or equivalent to the standard at this level
A grade electrical license
Minimum 3 years’ experience as an electrician within a manufacturing environment.
Forklift License (desirable)
Knowledge of PLC’s, (Beckhoff and Siemens - desirable)
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change
Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
