• Travel Requirements: Our key projects are currently based in Rockhampton, with plans to expand into additional regions (regional and interstate locations).
• FIFO from Brisbane: 10 days on / 4 days off, 10hr day (including 30-min paid break). Flights and access to a tool‑of‑trade vehicle provided. Accommodation and meals are self-managed via LAHA.

About the Role

You will support in the construction delivery for renewable energy projects nationwide, including greenfield and brownfield works on substations, switching stations, BESS installations, and related infrastructure.

You will work across major infrastructure sites, enjoying a balance of stability and variety. We’ll support you every step of the way with competitive allowances and genuine, hands‑on support.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Lead and manage subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient project delivery
• Execute High‑Voltage Primary equipment installations such as Transformers, Circuit breakers, Switch gear and capacitor banks
• Assisting in foundational tasks such as erecting steel structures, installation of underground services
• Testing and commissioning of installed equipment

About you: 

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position
• Proven subcontractor management capability
• Ability to work effectively within a small team (approx. 14–15 personnel)
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Ticket
• Working at Heights Ticket
• Valid QLD Electrical Licence
• Construction White Card

About the Project

The Boulder Creek Wind Farm is a 38-turbine, 228-megawatt onshore wind farm, located 40km southwest of Rockhampton in Queensland. 

Ventia’s energy networks and renewable teams will support Powerlink on the delivery of grid connection assets, that will help generate enough clean energy to more than 85,000 QLD homes.

Our team will design and construct a new 275kV switching station that will facilitate the transfer of the electricity generated by the wind farm to the Queensland transmission network.
