About the Role:
As an Electrical Fitter at Colonial Foods, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing electrical systems and machinery to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency. In addition to hands-on electrical work, you will collaborate with engineers and technicians to enhance our production processes and contribute to infrastructure improvements.
This role offers a mix of technical challenges and strategic responsibilities, with opportunities to make meaningful contributions to our operations.
About You:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Electrical Fitter who is passionate about solving problems and improving processes. You are a proactive team player with strong technical skills and a commitment to safety and compliance. Ideally, you have experience in manufacturing or a related industry, thrive under pressure, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Proven experience in electrical maintenance and repair, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to address issues promptly.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Willingness to adapt and contribute to other areas of production/logistics as needed.
Duties Included, but not Limited to:
- Efficient management of all factory machinery to ensure that all machinery, including electrical systems, is working productively.
- Electrical troubleshooting and repair of machinery, addressing electrical faults or issues promptly to avoid extended downtimes.
- Recommendations to the Board for investments and improvements to the manufacturing process, including automation and electrical system upgrades.
- Ongoing maintenance of machines, both mechanical and electrical, to minimize disruptions to production.
- Implementation of electrical safety standards across the facility, ensuring that all electrical equipment complies with regulations and is regularly inspected.
- Oversee the installation of new electrical systems and components, ensuring they are integrated efficiently into the existing operations.
- Collaborating with engineers and technicians to plan and execute electrical upgrades or expansions in production lines.
- Involvement in infrastructure improvements.
- When all systems are running smoothly, contributing to Production/Logistics as required.
- Managing the maintenance budget and aligning it with key performance indicators (KPI % of sales).
- Maintain all maintenance records to comply with SQF Certification requirements.
- Implement and report on a monthly preventive maintenance schedule.
- Maintain a clean and tidy workshop to comply with OHS standards.
- Perform regular inspections and testing of electrical systems to ensure proper functionality and safety.
- Install wiring, outlets, switches, and control systems in accordance with Australian electrical codes and regulations.
