We are currently partnering with a growing mechanical services contractor seeking a Draftsperson to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity to work across diverse commercial and industrial HVAC projects, supporting delivery from design through to construction and commissioning.
The Opportunity As a Draftsperson, you will play a key role in producing high-quality mechanical services drawings and coordinating with engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure accurate and efficient project delivery. This role offers strong exposure to BIM coordination, site engagement, and end-to-end project involvement.
Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed HVAC and mechanical services drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Develop design, shop, coordination, and as-built drawings
  • Prepare ductwork, piping, plant room layouts, and schematic diagrams
  • Work closely with engineers to translate designs into practical construction documentation
  • Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, hydraulic, and fire services teams
  • Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection processes
  • Maintain drawing registers and document control systems
  • Revise drawings based on project and site feedback
  • Support site teams with technical drawing updates and requests
  • Conduct site visits to verify dimensions and installation progress (as required)
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, NCC, and project requirements
  • Assist with equipment schedules, technical submissions, and project documentation
About You
  • Experience as a Draftsperson within HVAC, mechanical services, or building services
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (essential)
  • Understanding of HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, ventilation, and plant
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Desirable Experience
  • Experience with Revit and BIM modelling
  • Exposure to Navisworks or clash detection tools
  • Knowledge of mechanical services design principles
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial projects
  • Familiarity with Australian Standards and NCC requirements
  • Experience working closely with site installation teams
Qualifications
  • Certificate IV, Diploma, or higher in Drafting, Engineering Design, Building Services, or related field
