THE ROLE
Hallett Maintenance Services are a growing team that are making a real difference to the reliability and performance of our transport and concrete divisions. The team carryout high quality maintenance and repair of all transport equipment, including scheduled maintenance and servicing across the Hallett Group of Companies. Due to continual growth within the business we are looking for Diesel Mechanics, or Light Vehicle Mechanics (ANZSCO 321212) looking to upskill, to join the Maintenance team on a permanent basis with relocation on offer from within Australia.
Light Vehicle qualified or 3rd/4thyear Heavy Vehicle Apprentice candidates are encouraged to apply!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
- diagnostic and repairs of mechanical and electrical faults in engines and components
- removal and repairs to engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and inspection of parts
- Removal and replacement of worn and defective components and reassembling mechanical components, with referring to OME workshop manuals as needed
- performing scheduled maintenance services, fluid and filter changes, mechanical inspections and engine tune-ups, to achieve efficient running of vehicles and ensure compliance with emission regulations
- testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
- diagnosing and testing procedures with the assistance of Scan tools
- Able to inspect vehicles and confirm the vehicle is roadworthy and report detail work required to achieve roadworthiness
- Able to respond to vehicle breakdown service calls
QUALIFICATIONS | EXPERIENCE | CAPABILITIES
- Cert III in the Heavy diesel mechanical trade or light vehicle Trade.
- Committed to working safety, assessing risk and putting appropriate controls in place
- Experience working on and servicing on highway trucks/trailers & heavy plant and equipment.
- Knowledge and experience in hydraulics and pneumatics preferred
- Proven experience in breakdown repairs to transport equipment
- Electrical system diagnoses and repairs
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work without direct supervision.
- Willing to undertake pre-employment functional assessment and drug and alcohol testing
- Current & valid Drivers licence
