Metro Tasmania is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to support the maintenance of our Hobart-based fleet on a Full Time permanent basis.

Based at our Hobart workshop, you will be responsible for servicing our fleet of buses to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and operational.

Key responsibilities include:

• Undertaking preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults.
• Performing breakdown repairs as required.
• Completing inspections and maintenance documentation.
• Ensuring vehicles meet safety and compliance requirements.
• Working independently while contributing to fleet reliability.

This role offers autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to apply your expertise in a practical, well-supported environment.

You will bring:

• Trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing diesel or heavy vehicles.
• Strong fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Reliable and professional approach.
