The Role:
Reporting to the Engineering Lead, the Day Shift Fitter role plays a critical part in ensuring the smoother operation of our aluminium can-making plant by maintaining and managing all technical wet-work services. The Day shift Fitter will also pursue mechanical maintenance improvements and drive a high-quality culture and standard. This is a day shift role, working Monday to Friday with the opportunity for overtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously monitor and record various parameters relating to wet work services against OEM and Orora specification
- Document and report laboratory test results accurately and promptly
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks through the MEX system
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance procedures
- Identify and repair defective machine/equipment components using tools and equipment
- Provide technical assistance and recommendations to the process production teams
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with wet work systems and relating manufacturing processes
- Review and action MEX work orders after maintenance days and work with Engineering teams on addressing outstanding actions
- Other duties as directed by the Engineering Lead when required
What We’re Looking For:
- Trade Qualification – Maintenance Fitter
- Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of DI water systems and water treatment processes
- Candidates with previous Laboratory experience conducting tests and analysis highly desirable
- Familiarity with manufacturing and process quality standards
- Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices and safety first mindset
In conjunction with the above, the successful applicant will possess strong communication skills, have a high level of initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude. Being able to work as part of a team as well as independently is imperative as is experience within a maintenance team environment.
