Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.  In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.

We are currently seeking an experienced Boilermaker to assist the HME maintenance team at our Capcoal Surface Operations.

Your Trade qualification as a Boilermaker, demonstrated experience within an open-cut coal maintenance environment, solid understanding of the coal mining process and relevant legislation with strong interpersonal skills are essential to the role.

You will possess at least three (3) years’ experience on mine site equipment (electric rope shovels, draglines, excavators and drills etc).

You will enjoy the challenge of maintaining heavy mobile equipment, diagnosing problems, and implementing preventative practices. You will be responsible for crack repairs and general welding maintenance on Komatsu 830E Trucks, CAT 793D & 785 Trucks, CAT D11, D10 Dozers, 18 & 24 Graders, Komatsu WA900 loaders and various other mobile equipment. The role will also come with general fabrication requirements. Supervisor (S123, G2), SAP experience is not essential but highly desirable. 

The role is a workshop based (HME) role working on mobile equipment, not field maintenance.

• This is a full-time, permanent role
• 7 On 7 Off rotating day shift roster
• Based at our Capcoal Surface Operation in Middlemount
• BIBO from Mackay and Rockhampton
• This role is suitable for DIDO, and residential options, with subsided accommodation options
