Your safety matters. Join our team where support for safety is paramount. We've got your back.
Anglo American Steelmaking Coal
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.
We are currently seeking an experienced Boilermaker to assist the HME maintenance team at our Capcoal Surface Operations.
To be successful in this role you will ensure compliance with all Anglo American safety and operating systems and a commitment to working together as part of a team to achieve business objectives.
You will be a great and flexible team player and enjoy contributing to a positive and safety focused work environment. This is your opportunity to join a team of passionate and supportive industry leading experts where you can really drive your future career.
You will have a desire to collaborate and innovate to continuously improve performance and processes to optimise the above equipment availability and reliability. You will be able to display through your extensive supervisory experience your ability to lead your team to logically problem-solve, develop and balance short and long term strategies and solutions. Your zero-harm mindset will be forefront of all processes and you will have a passion for safely delivery requirements.
Your Trade qualification as a Boilermaker, demonstrated experience within an open-cut coal maintenance environment, solid understanding of the coal mining process and relevant legislation with strong interpersonal skills are essential to the role.
You will enjoy the challenge of maintaining heavy mobile equipment, diagnosing problems, and implementing preventative practices. You will be responsible for crack repairs and general welding maintenance on Komatsu 830E Trucks, CAT 793D & 785 Trucks, CAT D11, D10 Dozers, 18 & 24 Graders, Komatsu WA900 loaders and various other mobile equipment. The role will also come with general fabrication requirements. Supervisor (S123, G2), SAP experience is not essential but highly desirable.
The role is a workshop based (HME) role working on mobile equipment, not field maintenance.
