Our talented multi-disciplinary team work on innovative and diverse defence projects supporting our vision to be the world leader in defence innovation. This is an exciting period of growth for us and we are looking for a driven Toolmaker/1st Class Machinist to join our team.

As an experienced CNC Machinist at DefendTex you will support the Engineering team to develop leading edge products and systems for use in tomorrow’s defence technology.

You will have experience in:

  • Manual machining practices
  • CNC machining
  • CAD/CAM software
  • Selection of material for purpose
  • Selection and application of tooling

Essential:

  • Trade Qualified Fitter and Turner
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Understanding of Fanuc/ISO G Code
  • Ability to satisfy Baseline Security Clearance

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a Baseline clearance. To learn more about clearances please visit – http://www.defence.gov.au/AGSVA

Desirable:

  • Forklift licence
  • Welding with MIG, TIG and Arc
  • Ability to troubleshoot engineering processes and design changes
