Purpose of the role


Interested in traffic signals and other ITS assets? 


This is the perfect opportunity to broaden your skills in this unique industry of electronic road infrastructure.


This role has the primary responsibility for the construction, maintenance, and inspection of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) assets, ancillary equipment, and other highways electrical systems.


You will be responsible for performing construction and reconstruction of ITS assets in line with Yunex Traffic, legislative and customer contractual requirements. Maintenance works can be of a planned or reactive nature, and you will have the ability to respond to a changing environment. 


The working pattern will be approximately 70% night shift and 30% day shift (throughout the year) but this can change depending on customer requirements, overtime is also available.


Areas of responsibility and tasks



  • Construction and reconstruction of assets, such as Traffic Control Signals (TCS), Variable Message Signs (VMS) and Hazard warning signs (AWS, VSLS) etc.   

  • Preparation of equipment prior to final installation e.g., Traffic Signal Controllers or vehicle detection systems. 

  • Installation or modification of new and existing ITS assets. 

  • Undertake appropriate training with the addition of new equipment and systems as and when necessary, via formal and informal training, including on the job training.

  • Liaising with customers and other contractors that may be on site. 

  • Ensuring works are completed in accordance with the site specification, in a timely manner and to a high-quality level. 

  • Conduct yourself in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, all employees have a duty to comply with all Health and Safety Procedures and to be alert in identifying potential hazards by removing or minimising them wherever possible 

  • Any other duties reasonably practicable within the skills required for the role

  • Training will be provided where required in the relevant asset categories.

  • High level of communication skills, both verbal and written, will be necessary as you will be expected to liaise with other parts of the business and with customers

  • Must be physically fit as this role requires a certain element of manual handling.


It is desirable but not mandatory to have the following: 



  • Experience with Traffic Signal Infrastructure or pit & pipe work

  • Excavator experience & VOC

  • Rigger & Dogmen VOC

  • Current First Aid certificate


Requirements:



  • Must have a driver’s license, MR/HR preferred.

  • OH&S White Card and sound knowledge of industry OH&S requirements.

  • Must be flexible with working hours. 

  • Strong communication skills, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to commute to Rydalmere, NSW 2116
