Job Description

Reporting to the CHPP Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, the CHPP Mechanical Maintainer will perform all mechanical maintenance functions within the Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP), minimising downtime whilst demonstrating a strong commitment to health, safety and the environment.


In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Providing safe and efficient assistance to enhance the operation of our assets.

  • Performing mechanical fault finding and diagnostics work at the CHPP

  • Inspecting, maintaining and repairing mechanical fixed plant in accordance with relevant procedures and legislation

  • Maintaining a high level of positive safety performance and workplace culture through teamwork, personal commitment, and application of the company values

Roster and Location

  • Permanent Full Time

  • Based on site across HVO CHPP’s four main operating areas

About You

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification

  • 3+ years’ experience in fixed plant operations

  • Industrial experience, conducting maintenance inspections, industrial installations, fault finding and repair of equipment including, yard machines (Stackers / Reclaimers), conveying equipment.

  • Previous experience in coal handling and processing plants.

  • Competencies in Working at heights / confined space / elevated work platform (advantageous),

  • Excellent Organisational skills and with the ability to multitask.

  • Ability to liaise and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Show motivation with the ability to work both autonomously and within a team.
