Job Description

  • Paint, maintain and repair painted, wall-covered, stained and varnished surfaces of building structures, rooms, furniture and equipment throughout the hotel and facilities.
  • Prepare and paint surfaces using techniques and tools including, but not limited to, measuring surfaces, mixing paint, matching paint and using brushes, rollers and spray-guns.
  • Install and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces.
  • Maintain and repair caulked, grouted, wood and masonry surfaces requiring staining, varnishing and lacquering.
  • Liaise with individual departments and the Senior Duty Technician in relation to work requirements.
  • Plan and prioritise jobs to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Completion of set daily tasks.
  • Liaise with the Housekeeping Manager/Senior Duty Technician or designate to ensure that all equipment is maintained and in good working order.
  • Carry out maintenance requirements and follow up as scheduled by the Hotels’ Property Management System (PMS).
  • Record all tasks performed, both complete and incomplete.
  • Primarily perform tasks relevant to experience and trade, and any other tasks as required or requested by Management and Supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Considerable knowledge of paint, varnish, stain, enamels, lacquers, wall coverings, masonry work and other related products as well as application and mixing procedures of such products.
  • Previous experience working in hotel / resort / hospitality settings is preferred.
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including small hand tools.
  • Good levels of written and spoken English.
