- Located at Sydney's flagship Taronga Zoo, Mosman
- Full-Time contract
- TCSA Wages TZ Tradesperson – $74,540 total annual package (includes: base salary $66,058 + 11.5% superannuation + annual leave loading)
This is a truly unique opportunity! You will work on the exhibit facilities for animals such as tigers, elephants, pygmy hippos and gorillas! All whilst using your expertise in providing a broad range of handyperson services for cyclic maintenance, restoration, repairs and construction work to the zoo facilities.
- Monday to Friday shifts with the option of weekend work with shift allowances
- 6.30am to 3.15pm
Key Accountabilities…
- Perform all types of handyperson / carpentry maintenance, restoration repairs and construction work, as directed by the Facilities Manager
- Adhere to the TCSA works requisition system and follow through with projects in an efficient and effective manner.
- Ensure work is performed in a timely, cost effective manner to prescribed quality standards and to meet customer and the TCSA’s needs.
- Perform all trade and non- trade related works activities as scheduled / allocated and instructed by the Leading Hand Carpenter.
- Maintain TCSA tools, vehicles and machinery in a sound working condition.
- Comply with Taronga’s Customer Service Charter and suggest initiatives for further improvement to ensure industry leading standards are maintained.
- Comply with and suggest sustainability practices in the workplace to help achieve Taronga’s sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.
- Comply with and report any Work, Health and Safety incidents in line with Taronga’s Work, Health and Safety Charter.
About you…
We are looking for candidates that have/ are willing to:
- Trade Certificate in skill related qualification
- Post trade hands on experience in relevant field/s
- Current NSW or equivalent Drivers License
- Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain
